Join us for an in-depth professional development session designed to deepen educators’ understanding of the legal foundations and instructional practices essential to developing effective, standards-based IEPs for students with dyslexia. Participants will: - Recognize key federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance that direct IEP development and support students with dyslexia. - Identify the critical role of the enrolled grade-level general education curriculum in shaping the SB IEP process. - Develop comprehensive present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) statements using multiple data sources, including baseline data for identified areas of need and the impact of dyslexia on a student’s access to and progress in the general curriculum. - Write measurable annual goals aligned with the PLAAFP and inform the specially designed instruction (SDI) required to support student success. - Design effective data collection methods to monitor progress on annual goals and establish systems for reporting progress to families.
