Behavior as Information: An Executive Function Lens for Therapists

Tuesday, February 10, 2026 | 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM ET | 1.5 CEs

Live via Zoom

This session helps Academic Language Therapists deepen their understanding of executive function (EF) and recognize how many common in-session behaviors are actually EF challenges showing up during instruction. Participants will learn how to notice common in-session behaviors, identify the underlying EF skill involved, and respond in ways that support regulation, attention, and learning—without abandoning structure or the lesson plan.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Debbie Rosen and Lindsey Thoms, M.Ed. are the co-owners of The StudyPro, an executive function and study skills center dedicated to turning school stress into lifelong skills. The StudyPro helps students develop the critical abilities needed to manage the process of school—skills like planning, focus, organization, and follow-through. Through coach-guided reflection, students learn to notice barriers and apply strategies—so they not only complete their work more effectively, but also build independence, resilience, and the belief that they can succeed. The goal isn’t just better grades; it’s learners who know how to move forward, in school and in life.
