Reading Fluency Intervention: Research, Perspectives, and New Directions
Although interventions can be relatively effective at improving decoding skills for students with dyslexia, reading fluency remains one of the most challenging skills to remediate. This presentation will dive into the research on reading fluency and examine what the term really means, the skills that underlie it, interventions to improve it, and how new research may uncover new ways of improving this critical skill.

This interactive session will focus on how dyslexia specialists and diagnosticians collaborate effectively with special education teachers to provide individualized, evidence-based services for students with dyslexia. The presentation will equip participants with tools to identify and differentiate the unique profiles of dyslexic students, from mild to severe cases, and implement tailored intervention plans accordingly.
