Participants will engage with cognitive science, practical techniques, and reflective exercises to master explicit instruction, moving beyond the myths of minimal teacher talk and discovery-only learning. Hodder Education Course Objectives: Understand the cognitive science behind explicit teaching and the importance of clear explanations Identify and apply key techniques for modeling, demonstrating, and presenting concepts Distinguish between explicit instruction and discovery learning, recognizing the strengths and limitations of each Design and deliver explanations that maximize student understanding and retention Develop classroom routines and environments that support focused, effective teacher talk Participant Requirements: Complete Weekly Assignments: Participants are expected to submit all weekly assignments on time, including reflections, lesson plan analyses, and any other tasks assigned. Engage in Weekly Discussions: Active participation in weekly discussions is required to deepen understanding and share insights with peers.
