PART II: Imperfect Solutions to the Perfect Storm: Because it never works the way you plan!

Location: Virtual

Hosting Organization: ALTA Great Lakes
Description:

Ever wonder why diagnostic labels seem to disappear and suddenly we see new ones emerge? In this seminar, Dr. Tridas will discuss the difference between ADD and ADHD and what happened to the label. He will describe the neurobiology and definition of dyslexia and the many myths associated with it. Other topics to be addressed include the impact of anxiety in the student’s classroom performance and the influence of executive functions in the student’s clinical presentation.

During his presentations, Dr. Tridas will explore the relationship between dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety and executive functions and how it should guide the evaluation process. The participants will learn the criteria for diagnosing these conditions and strategies used to address them from the educational psychological and medical perspective.
