Description: This workshop will address the unique strategies for teaching math to all kinds of learners with special attention to the needs of students with language based and related disabilities. Participants will learn specific strategies gleaned from literacy instruction which can be applied to the teaching of mathematics. Participants will employ simultaneous processing, the use of manipulative objects, coding, tracking, expressive and receptive language support techniques and many others in the application of multisensory strategies for teaching math concepts. The presenter is a CALT and member of ALTA.
