Description: The morning session will  cover the distinguishable characteristics of good reading instruction, including

• Teaching PA with manipulatives

• Activating orthographic mapping with phonics chips

• Using word sorting and word chains to teach phonics patterns

• Teaching syllable types with gestures and an engaging routine

The afternoon session will cover research that indicates what systems and structures need to be in place in order for schools and districts to ensure all students achieve at high levels.
