In the wake of upheaval from the Coronavirus most of our therapists that have serviced students in schools and/or private practice face-to-face and have now been forced to take their show and go home. Our students still need to be serviced. As professionals we want to be able to do this as effectively as we possibly can given the current situations. This presentation is designed to assist our members in quickly setting up and beginning an online therapy practice with as little stress as possible. Chris Fry, Certified Academic Language Therapist, shares basic directions on using the zoom platform for this and demonstrating many practical ideas that she uses in her own online teaching practice.
Christina started her journey as a Certified Academic Language Therapist through Southern Methodist University, TX after a rewarding career as an Early Childhood Education teacher in TN and GA in which she still holds current teaching certificates. She worked as a Private Therapist in TX before moving back to TN in 2018 when she took her therapy practice to students online. Before moving to TN she joined the ALTA Board CEU Committee as a volunteer CEU Co-Chair and has since moved into the Vice President of Membership position. Online therapy for her began as a means to continue to serve the children and families she had been working with and had established very deep bonds with.
